Privacy Policy
Amihan Global Strategies ("Amihan", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through www.amihan.net (the "Site"), why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it. We process personal data in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules, and — where it applies to you — the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and to run the Site.
| When | Data | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| You subscribe to The FDE Briefing | Email address; subscription timestamp; confirmation status | To send you the newsletter you asked for and to prove consent |
| You submit a contact or sprint-scoping form | Name, work email, company, role, and the message or use case you describe | To reply to your enquiry and prepare for a conversation |
| You email us directly | Whatever you include in the email and its headers | To respond to you |
| You browse the Site | Technical logs held by our hosting provider (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamps) | Security, abuse prevention and keeping the Site available |
We do not run advertising trackers, behavioural analytics or social-media pixels on the Site, and we do not buy or sell personal data.
2. How we use it
- To send The FDE Briefing to subscribers who have asked for it, and to honour unsubscribe requests.
- To respond to enquiries, scope engagements and follow up on conversations you started.
- To keep the Site secure — for example, to detect and block automated form abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish or defend legal claims.
We will not use your data for purposes incompatible with the ones above without asking you first.
3. Legal basis
- Consent — for newsletter subscriptions. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any issue or by emailing us.
- Legitimate interests — for responding to business enquiries you initiate, and for Site security and abuse prevention.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain records or respond to lawful requests.
4. Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers ("processors") who act on our instructions and are bound by data-protection terms:
| Provider | Role | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting, edge network, secure storage of form submissions and subscriber list | All Site traffic and form data |
| Resend, Inc. | Transactional email delivery (confirmation emails, enquiry notifications, newsletter) | Email address and message content |
| Google LLC (Google Fonts) | Web font delivery | IP address and browser details of the font request |
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, or to professional advisers under confidentiality. We do not share subscriber or contact lists with partners or sponsors.
5. International transfers
Amihan is headquartered in Makati, Philippines, with a presence in the United States. Our providers operate globally distributed infrastructure, so your data may be stored or processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
6. Retention
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days.
- Contact and enquiry data: up to 24 months after our last interaction, unless an engagement follows, in which case it is kept under that engagement's terms.
- Server logs: retained by our hosting provider for a short rolling period for security purposes.
7. Cookies
The Site does not set analytics, advertising or preference cookies, and there is no cookie banner because none is needed. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies for security purposes only — for example, to distinguish humans from automated traffic. These are exempt from consent requirements. No first-party data is stored in your browser's local storage.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is processed (this policy);
- access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request erasure ("right to be forgotten");
- object to, or restrict, processing;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out;
- data portability, where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the Philippines, the National Privacy Commission.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@amihan.net with the subject "Privacy request". We will respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity.
To stop receiving The FDE Briefing, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any issue — it takes effect immediately and needs no login.
9. Security
The Site is served only over HTTPS with strict transport security, a content-security policy and other browser protections. Form submissions are stored in access-controlled storage and are never written to public logs. Access to personal data inside Amihan is limited to the people who need it to respond to you.
10. Children
The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The effective date at the top will be revised and, for material changes affecting subscribers, we will notify you by email.
